The music of the experimental Ukrainian band YAGÓDY is the wind in the wilderness, the songs of wild tribes, the voice of their ancestors. With a live energy, their sounds dance with voices, finding the deep roots of human nature.

The band was founded in Lviv in June 2016 by actress Zoriana Dybovska, who at that time was teaching stage speech at the Faculty of Culture and Arts of the Ivan Franko National University in Lviv. It was the starting point of the band. The other members of the quartet were students who studied music with Zoriana. In order to form the group, the performers learned musical instruments and embarked on individual artistic expeditions in search of repertoire.

With Ukrainian sound and Balkan motifs, YAGÓDY’s lyrics flow sinuously through their music, evoking the wistful themes such as unreceived letters from the past. Their music is centered around the Four women with different temperaments and experiences who make up the ensemble: Zoriana Dybovska (percussion), Sofiia Leshyshak (djembe), Nadiia Parashchuk (accordion), and Tetiana Voitiv (drymba and Tibetan bowl). Their unique personalities and  differences inspired the band name of our band; the sound “YA”. In Ukrainian means “Me”.
