Join us for two incredible performances of jazz artistry at The Freight with our Generations of Jazz 2-show pass. These shows will feature the boundary-pushing trumpet of Keyon Harrold who Downbeat Magazine called “The future of the trumpet” and the timeless, vocal brilliance of jazz singer Carmen Lundy.
Carmen Lundy is celebrating 50 years in jazz this year as a vocalist, composer, recording and touring artist. With a new album due out in 2025, Carmen Lundy’s 17th, we’re thrilled to be presented at the legendary Freight. Joining Carmen is her core stellar band comprised of Julius Rodriguez on piano, Ben Williams on bass, Terreon Gully on drums, and Andrew Renfroe on guitar.
Award-winning and two-time Grammy-nominated singer, composer, film producer and visual artist Carmen Lundy is regarding by many as the finest female jazz singer performing today and is highly regarded for her innovative musicianship, showmanship and songwriting. She has penned more than two hundred compositions to date, especially rare for a vocalist.
Carmen Lundy has performed at the most prestigious festivals and concert halls in Japan, Europe, Australia, South America, Africa, the U.S. and Canada. A captivating live performer, Carmen Lundy’s concerts are an exhibition of virtuosity, raw heartfelt emotion, and playfulness– a jazz singer at her very best."Musicians as diversely gifted as Carmen Lundy, who have excelled as a vocalist, composer, lyricist, arranger, and pianist for more than three decades, remain far and few between." - Jazz Times
