The Freight Singers is a community chorus based at The Freight, founded by Zoe Ellis and Bryan Dyer and now led by Bryan Dyer. The chorus introduces singers and audiences alike to music from a variety of cultures inside the U.S. and around the world with an emphasis on traditional/roots music. Join us on May 18th for a night of song and unity with Bryan Dyer, the Freight Singers, and a very special guest Tony Lindsay.
After 25 years as the lead vocalist for Santana, Tony Lindsay has garnered 11 Grammy awards. In 1980, Lindsay arrived in the San Francisco Bay Area from Kingston, New York, and continues to perform with the first band he formed Spangalang, who have opened for Curtis Mayfield, Tower of Power, Gerald Albright, Jr. Walker and the Average White Band. He was one of four singers who traveled with "Dancing with the Stars," the road tour version of the popular TV Dance show, which began in 2005.
